Inspect attached crystal units before interpreting a larger object as growth of one crystal.
Define the Phase or Process Boundary
METTLER TOLEDO's agglomeration description identifies crystal aggregates bonding after collisions. Enlargement of individual crystal faces is a different route from several crystals forming one attached object.
Review a Hypothetical Comparison
Imagine a fictional sequence showing two previously separate 40 µm cube-like crystals contacting and remaining attached, with their interface still visible. In an assumed no-growth event their combined solid volume is 2×40³=128000 µm³, equivalent to a single cube edge of about 50.40 µm. That equivalent length does not mean either original crystal face advanced to 50.40 µm. It summarizes combined volume while discarding the attached-unit structure.
Keep the Evidence with the Decision
Retain image/event evidence for individual units and their connection. Separate a temporary contact, a persistent attachment and continuous face enlargement. If a size distribution counts connected objects, document that object definition. Check whether later handling breaks the connections before comparing the same reported size statistic across stages.
The simplified cube geometry is assigned. It neither establishes real bond strength nor selects a mixing condition or imaging method; invisible connections remain unresolved without appropriate evidence.
Does the size increase reflect coherent face growth or attached individual crystals?

Customer Questions
Does larger equivalent size prove face growth?
No. Several attached crystals can produce a larger combined object.
Are touching images proof of a persistent bond?
Establish persistence and rule out overlap in the observation.
Can object definition change the size report?
Yes. Retain whether attached units are counted separately or together.
