A gauge datasheet can tie performance to a reference position. Retain that condition when a panel or connection drawing changes the orientation.
Read the condition attached to the claim
WIKA’s PM 01.50 datasheet states adjustment at a nominal position as part of its accuracy information. This is a product-specific example of why mounting and reference conditions should remain attached to a performance statement. It supplies no universal orientation correction for all gauges.
Review an invented layout revision
Imagine an offer initially shows a gauge in its documented reference position. A later panel drawing turns the assembly to fit a different space while retaining the same headline percentage. Ask the supplier whether the revised position is covered by the quoted performance statement.
Keep dial readability separate from measurement applicability. A readable display can still leave the reference-condition question unanswered. Record the exact part, drawing revision and manufacturer response instead of assuming a visually convenient orientation is equivalent.
Approve the applicable statement
Compare the actual installation with the model’s permitted positions and reference conditions. Obtain any required position-specific evidence from the manufacturer. If a performance claim is limited to a stated condition, preserve that limit in the trial report. This review concerns specification applicability and does not instruct the user to rotate a connected pressure instrument.

Customer Questions
Does a readable dial prove reference conditions are met?
No.
Does this example establish a correction for every gauge?
No. It is a model-specific documentation example.
Should a layout change retain its evidence trail?
Yes. Recheck applicability against the changed drawing.
