An omitted picture and an omitted listed component can be different states. Their definitions matter when counting assembly contents.
Identify visibility and participation separately
A component can be hidden in drawing views while remaining in the parts list. Suppression can exclude it from both the associated views and the list. These are separate representation controls and should not be inferred from the visible picture alone. Primary reference: Autodesk: drawing component visibility and suppression.
Ask whether an absent component is hidden for clarity, excluded from the selected configuration or actually absent from the intended assembly. The software representation does not by itself establish what a delivered machine physically contains.
Compare a fictional cover panel
Imagine a defined assembly includes a cover panel. One drawing hides the panel so an internal connection is visible, while the list still contains it. Another configuration suppresses the panel and excludes it from that representation's list. The two absent pictures can look alike despite different listed participation.
This example is not an instruction to remove a machine guard or change a delivered assembly. It compares documentation states only. The actual construction and any operation or service requirements must remain defined by the responsible design and supplier records.
Reconcile view and list before counting
Check the selected component reference, visibility state and list structure. Identify whether a clarity view omits parts that belong to the complete assembly. Preserve the configuration name and table identity when passing the picture to a buyer or receiver.
For an equipment-scope discussion, resolve what the supplier intends to deliver independently of the display choices. A concealed drawing item can still be part of that scope, while a suppressed representation may show another intended configuration. The review should use the complete definition rather than treating one simplified illustration as a physical inventory.
Customer Questions
Can a hidden component remain listed?
Yes. Visibility and list participation can differ.
Does a missing picture prove the item is not delivered?
No. Check the actual assembly and scope definition.
What should accompany a simplified view?
Retain its configuration and the corresponding list identity.
