A platinum probe label is only part of its electrical identity. Match nominal resistance, curve information and input configuration before using converted temperatures.
Keep the identifying properties together
An RTD conversion needs the applicable nominal resistance and resistance-versus-temperature relationship. Platinum material alone does not identify every coefficient. The input must support and be configured for the actual sensor relationship; a label saying “RTD” leaves that question open.
Compare two invented quotation lines
Line A specifies a 100 Ω nominal platinum element with its curve identification. Line B specifies a 1,000 Ω nominal element but copies the same controller configuration note. Ask whether that note was reviewed for line B, rather than treating both probes as interchangeable because their process connection is the same.
Next distinguish the sensor’s permitted temperature interval from the controller’s selectable display interval. A software option does not expand the physical probe’s rating. Retain the supplied certificate or specification as the source of the conversion identity.
Approve a complete configuration record
List the probe model, nominal resistance, applicable curve or coefficients, wiring arrangement and configured input type in one record. Ask for a suitable documented check of the implemented conversion. Avoid entering coefficients from an unrelated probe sheet or assuming that a new input recognizes every connected RTD automatically.

Customer Questions
Does platinum material identify the complete curve?
No. Retain the applicable conversion information.
Does a controller display range rate the probe?
No. Review probe and input limits separately.
Can the configuration note be copied between offers?
Only after confirming its applicability to the actual sensor.
