Identify what the mechanical review addresses
WIKA’s wake-frequency guidance uses process properties and thermowell geometry to assess dynamic and static mechanical behavior. This review differs from checking temperature response or immersion error. A calculation result has meaning only for the stated inputs and applicable method scope.
Compare an invented revision
Imagine a reviewed drawing is changed from a short stand-off to a longer insertion while the old calculation PDF remains attached. Match drawing revision, insertion length, root and tip dimensions, material, pressure, temperature, velocity and fluid properties before relying on that PDF.
List operating cases explicitly. A convenient demonstration flow is not evidence that the highest relevant process velocity was assessed. Retain the calculation method, scope and limitations instead of treating a green result as approval for any revised arrangement.
Keep ownership and approval visible
Ask the responsible designer or supplier for an assessment applicable to the actual geometry and process envelope. Preserve the input record and approved drawing with the result. This educational guide neither performs a thermowell calculation nor certifies compliance with a standard; it helps a buyer detect mismatched evidence before accepting a quotation.
