Zeroing establishes one aspect of the indication. The response at nonzero quantities needs its own applicable evidence.
Identify what changed
Zero adjustment sets the system’s indication to zero for a zero input, as defined by the procedure. It does not independently establish sensitivity or the calibration relationship over other values. A zeroed screen therefore cannot replace an applicable nonzero comparison.
An invented linear model
Imagine a system with indication I=a+bQ. Zero adjustment can address a at the defined zero condition. If b is incorrect, a zero display can coexist with disagreement at Q=100. Checking only the zero point leaves that slope behavior unexamined.
A real system may be nonlinear and its zero procedure may have special conditions. Follow its documented method rather than adjusting settings from this illustrative model. Preserve initial readings if the incoming condition matters to the review.
Request the evidence the task needs
Record the zero condition and any adjustment separately from calibration results over the intended use interval. Ask which nonzero reference checks establish the relevant response. Retain settings and subsequent calibration evidence so a successful zero operation is not overinterpreted.

Customer Questions
Does zeroing prove correct span?
No. Nonzero response requires separate evidence.
Can an offset and slope problem coexist?
Yes. A zero operation addresses only its defined aspect.
Should the approved device procedure be followed?
Yes. This model is explanatory, not an adjustment instruction.
