Machine Utility Consumption: Ask for a Mode-by-Mode Record

Request utility consumption data by operating mode, with its units, duration and measurement boundary kept separate from connection capacity.

Library dates organize the collection. Actual publication and revision dates are shown separately.

Separate Connection Capacity from Consumption

Installation planning asks what supply connection the machine needs. Consumption planning asks what use is represented by a particular operating condition. Keep those questions in separate fields instead of treating an electrical nameplate or utility connection description as a complete use record.

Identify the machine configuration, included auxiliaries and the supplied utility interfaces. Ask which information is a design requirement, a supplier estimate or measured data. Do not convert the quoted connection capacity into a daily consumption figure without an applicable basis and the actual operating pattern.

List the Operating Modes Relevant to the Project

Ask which modes belong to the selected equipment and process: startup, steady production, replenishment, idle periods or an approved cleaning cycle. These are review categories, not a claim that every machine has the same sequence. Keep the product and container condition associated with each mode.

Provide the intended project pattern, including the periods that are still assumptions. A single production figure cannot describe the buyer schedule unless its scope is known. Ask the supplier which requested modes have supporting information and which require later evidence.

Request Units, Duration and the Measurement Boundary

For each data item, retain the stated quantity, units, duration and reporting method. Ask whether it describes a rate, an accumulated quantity over a period, or another defined basis. Keep the measurement point and the included equipment with the value.

Confirm whether shared supplies or external auxiliaries belong inside the reported boundary. A machine-only record and a broader line record can answer different planning questions. Do not add them together blindly, omit overlapping scope or compare figures whose measurement boundaries differ. Leave the arithmetic with the qualified project team using compatible references.

Keep Mode Assumptions Visible in Project Decisions

Store supplier data separately from the buyer assumptions used for a proposed schedule. If the production mix or cleaning pattern changes, identify which part of the planning basis needs review. An estimate should retain that label rather than becoming a completed measurement in later quotation documents.

Ask who will confirm the installed record if actual consumption evidence forms part of the purchase scope. Keep any uncertainty and excluded auxiliary use with the project decision. This guide provides no estimated cost, payback, environmental benefit or promised reduction.

Use a Mode-by-Mode Consumption Evidence Schedule

Complete a separate copy for each requested utility and operating mode. The schedule makes a missing duration or auxiliary boundary visible before a planning number is reused. Empty project cells below are for actual supplier and buyer references.

This blank worksheet records the proposed review. Complete it using identified project documents; the empty cells contain no observed result or approval.

Buyer Questions

Can connection capacity be reused as daily consumption?

Not without an applicable use basis and operating pattern. Keep supply requirements and consumption evidence separate.

Why ask for an idle-mode record?

If idle periods belong to the planned schedule, their applicable utility use is a separate evidence question.

Does this schedule predict savings?

No. It organizes data boundaries and assumptions for project review; it contains no cost or efficiency result.
